This album, right here. It’s incredible. Burks has done some pretty good work in the past, (I’m looking at you, Hoenn Summer, thumbs up) but this one is so, so much better. While I am personally more nostalgic for Gen. 3, this album is currently topping my music list. Any fan of the Pokémon series is essentially required to listen to this at least once, as it has an amazing selection of beautifully crafted songs from the games, but also some surprises; ‘Lugia’s Song’ from Pokémon 2000 was an amazing piece on its own, and the jazzy/action of ‘Team Rocket Strikes Back’ was enough to convince me to get the whole thing. I was not disappointed with the rest either. Amazing job, Braxton! I stand waiting in anticipation for your next album! You and your orchestra can take the time you need for your next masterpiece; perhaps consider looking into the Mystery Dungeon series. Don’t worry, I will be here. TL;DR: If you have ever played Pokémon Silver, Gold, Crystal, Heart Gold, or Soul Silver you will adore this. If you haven’t, then consider for yourself taking a chance on this album if you like non-synthesized, orchestra music. Thanks for reading!
