I’ve follow Christopher Cross from the time I heard the song, “Laura.” The various instruments & musicians just put me in a joyful world. Of course, Chris is just amazing both vocally and as a guitarist. Love it when he plays with a another guitarist because then they’re communicating back and forth with their guitar strings - just awesome! Chris’s voice is beautiful and so is his heart❤️❤️

A truly outstanding album. Listen to the title track it takes you right back to his glory days, Sailing, Arthur’s Theme etc. The production on this album is truly outstanding. Love the unique idea that Christopher only sings the chorus, allowing the stunning musicians to take center stage on these great songs. This is his best album since Another Page, which was I think 35 years ago.

Christopher Cross’ debut album is still one of my all time favorites. The instrumentation and percussion of that album is exceptional. In fact I can’t think of really any other album with chimes and horse clops. This new album is on the same level. I was already familiar with Keith Carlock from seeing him with Steely Dan. He has to be one of the best drummers in the world. Having some of what must be the best hired guns be the front men is a great concept and showcases Christopher Cross’ love for the music production process!
  • Cross's Finest Release to Date

While Christopher Cross may always be best remembered for his multiple-Grammy Award-winning self-titled debut album released in the pre-MTV era, this recording is in my view his finest ever in terms of sheer musicianship and lyrical impact. Many of the songs have the feel of incredible instrumental pieces with brief - and very memorable - refrains tucked inside. The overall effect is simply stunning. I have listened to the album over and over again since it arrived just a few days ago and it gets better with each cycle through. I was particularly moved by the album's final song, "Alvah," written and recorded in memory of his long-time collaborator, the late Rob Meuer (whose middle name was Alvah). The song "Roberta" is written in tribute to Joni Mitchell. Highly-recommended listening to for long-term Cross fans or those new to his catalog. You will not be disappointed.

Really pleased with the style of composition on this album (much better than his previous release). The arrangements are lush and the harmony is rich, with more of the tunes being upbeat. I hope this is the direction of future CC albums... well done.

Fantastic album, impeccable musicianship and production. CC is like the Steely Dan of smooth adult listening (and that is a high compliment). Great songs throughout. His strongest effort since Carlyle Sessions.
