We saw Christy live in Dun Laoghaire in 2005. He's one of Ireland's greatest song writers and performers. Lot's of albums! Hope that iTunes puts up more of them.

Christy you are a God, this is a wonderful album all that is great about Ireland and its music, I only hope to see more Christy albums on Itunes, his new album drops in 6 weeks, which will include "The Ballad of Ruby Walsh" currently on Irish radio. As Christy would say "Ride on"
  • A Gem in Irelands Crown

For someone who has influenced countless contempory Irish bands (including U2) Christy Moore, the Irish Woody Guthrie/Springsteen has been a champion of the underdog, the politically oppressed and downtrodden since the beginning of his recording career. His ability to mix humor and satire when needed alongside serious social situations makes this legendary minstrel a gem in Irelands crown.

OK - It's great to see at least one album. Christy is an icon of Irish music. Horslips has 9 on iTunes - thankfully - but we should have access to more of Christy's 20 plus albums.

Its great to finally see a Christy Moore album on iTunes! I'm hoping to see a lot more of them appear soon. I've been a fan of Christy's since seeing him do a Boston gig in the early '80s. This album is a good place to start - it has a bit of everything. Christy's humor, politics, idealism, and most of all his music shine in nascent form on "Ride On". The title track is one of the loveliest ballads ever made. Christy imbues it with a dark richness and a melancholy that will penetrate you, heart and soul! "Lisdoonvarna" is a wonderful tribute/souvenir of the Lisdoonvarna Music Festival, where Christy was a fixture. "The City of Chicago" is a sad and lucid paen to the loss of a homeland and the hope of the immigrant. Irish it is but also a very American song in some ways. Christy has come a long way since the release of "Ride On" but it is a gem that glistens with the promise of all that has come in its wake. Bravo iTunes and Christy Moore for bringing this album to a new audience, While you are about it, check out the fine music of Christy's younger brother, Luka Bloom, also available on iTunes.
