I'd never heard of these guys before they played at Rock on the Range 2017, and their show really blew me away! They put on an AMAZING, tight, energetic live show, I was very impressed!
Much needed adrenaline jab!

I am not sure why the other reviews are so off. Most of you praised his "artistic" side but then shut him down because he wasn't as hard as the previous album. There are still some great hard guitars and noise on this album. Wild Flowers is incredible and even more so when you hear him talk about it being about his wife. So the album is not The Gallows and yes Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes have evolved, but that only means they are getting better in my opinion. Buy this, don't listen to the critics or the reviews--even this one--and decide for yourself whether or not it rocks. If you are a fan then do the right thing and give them your money and enjoy.
Pretty Good!

A nice distance from the last album 'Blossom'. Where 'Blossom' was a very Gallows like album, 'Modern Ruin' strays away to take a more mature sound. 'Modern Ruin' has a few faster songs with a harder sound like 'Jackals' or 'God Is My Friend' where as the rest of the album consists of a hard but still calm take of Frank's earlier work such as his second band Pure Love. There's no tracks in this album that will sound like his Gallows years though the title track 'Modern Ruin' does come the clostest. Overall, I can definitly listen to the whole album maybe skipping 'Acid Rain' out of the twelve tracks on this album. A sure 9 out of 10

A total departure from the raw rocknroll/punk/hardcore influences of past projects and the previous LP. It's too slick and over produced. Nothing wrong with artists growing and sound progression, but it can be taken in a direction too far from the epicenter. If you dig modern pop like arctic monkeys with only a touch of rebellion this might be up your alley. But I could not endorse it.

It's an honest effort, I really dig it, but it lacks the aggression Frank Carter is known for. I feel his artistic side really shows through on this one, which is awesome to see. I wish there were some heavier parts as we saw on the first album as well. That would have made this album really rock.
Fierce, distinctive rock

One of my top band discoveries in the last year. This impressive album hurts and haunts me, all at the same time. Powerful lyrics, stinging guitars. Wide open, fresh rock and roll. x Can't wait to see them here in the USA in 2017! Rawk !

The sound has increased ten fold. The screaming didn't work well in the first album. This album has captured the same raw emotion without the use of painful screaming. This album, I believe, they found their sound.
Like not Love

I only rated this 4 stars cause I loved the raw aggression of the first album, but I really like the sound of this.
