I love her ballads the best, always have, and wish she'd record more these days. I wasn't too wild about the last couple of albums, but this is better. Still not the same sound that made me a fan, but better.

Surprised to hear so many slow songs with all the energy in the cover photo and title but it is great to hear Wynonna's voice again!

I've been a Judd fan since I can remember. This album, with the exception of the two or so country songs, is horrible. It sounds like screaming, and the songs have no meaning. I miss the traditional, country sounding WYnonna.
  • Back to the Basics...

This album has been wanted by fans for quite some time. New fans will be gained after listening to this great album. The album is a refreshing sound…getting back to basics; a voice and a few instruments. No auto-tune or unnecessary instruments on this album. This record represents how music should be recorded. Many might not know, but this album was recorded LIVE, meaning, no instruments were dubbed in afterward. Musicians and vocals were all together. Several great songs. You might like a few and you might like them all…either way you’ve got to give a listen.

Not my cup of tea! I'm a fan from the early 80's and just can't connect with this new sound. Wy you need the old band and the soulful backup singers!
  • Not for me

Been a long time Wy fan, but I am not digging the new sound. Wy has one of the finest voices in country, and she is still underated just like Trisha Yearwood. This album is not her style.

I've been a judd fan since 83, one of my all time fav albums is What the world needs. i personally dont care for this album, But if she had a great time writing and recording it Im happy for her. To me, it sounds like her voice is trying to compete with the music But what do i know. With this album she may recuit some new fans, Thats great for her!

Wynonna proves she is best when she believes in her art and her passion shines thru. Wy could sing the menu from your local greasy diner, your favorite fast-food drive thru & the ingredients off a package in your cupboards and It would all sound tasty good and you'd enjoy every moment - (save the phonebook for reality show contestants so they can practice….it would take them a while to catch up with Wy's talent and vocal power.) This lady should be putting out a new set of songs every year. 'Things that I lean On' shines with beautiful emotional interpretation of heartfelt lyrics. As much as I love her gritty sound and thumping power (band included) it's her quiet moments where Wy lights up the heart strings and makes you remember 'Wy 'you love her sound so much. Hope we get to see her sing this gem live on a television stage someday!

I have loved Wynonna forever and have been waiting and watching for a new album. Let me just say when I first saw it I hoped that it would live up to her standards and it does. The second half of the album is my favorite with its soul and diversity (not that I don't love to hear them rock out). I love it and hope to hear it in person when they have a concert near me.
