Not The Original Rendition

The problem with this video is that it is the version from the "Fade to Red" video collection which uses a different version of the music in the video (From the "Tales of the Librarian" album) instead of the Radio Edit Single from the EP. The net effect is that not only is the guitar part missing in favor of a loud drum (similar to the album version), but the audio doesn't align properly with the video and frankly it gives a wholly different feel to it as well, in my opinion. Given the only available version in digital form that I could easily get into my iTunes collection is that same Fade To Red DVD, that leaves me with no way to obtain the original video in iTunes to stream to my AppleTV unit and 93" home theater screen short of importing it off my VHS tape, which would be considerably lower quality and require the proper equipment to do well in the first place (which I don't have). Thus, I hope Apple will consider obtaining the original video in the future, which is one of Tori's best.

This was such an interesting debut. A song held dear to my heart, this is the soundtrack to my life. As a culture, we do crucify ourselves everyday. Fantastic and true to form Tori!

I first saw Tori on TV in 1992 in this video but didn't know who she was and no one I spoke with knew what video had a bathtub and chains (what stood out in memory) in it. This video really spoke to me, and despite the efforts of my 14 year old self, I could not find out any other information on her. In 2000 I was introduced to her and was ecstatic to discover all her works. It piqued my interest when Tales of a Librarian came out because I'd always felt that her songs were like chapters in a book, and rearranging them to play in varying order could put a different spin on the 'tale' I was listening to. Tori Amos is my favorite artist and she is incredibly gifted. This video is a great visual intro to her works I think.
