Surprisingly melodic, progressive and complex, considering that this is a reiteration of Terry Riley's works. The depth and fullness of the sound Zofo gets out of one piano is astounding. The feathery, bright melodies on one end of the duet compliment and contrast the darker, plodding harmony being played on the other end. A highly refined work sonically and compositionally. At times, the melody travels from one set of hands to the next, which is a joy to listen to, along with being a technical feat not many duets can boast. Not only is Zofo's performance on this album exceptional, but Sono Luminus's production is impeccable. Tremendously dynamic, organic, and pure. Without a doubt, this is a must hear for any piano enthusiast, or classical music fan looking for a modern, superlative instrumental album.
