"Turn me up". Heard this song for the 1st time 8 months ago. The baselines are so originally sexy. The passion - this a goosebump and nod your head song.

how an artist can start out so authentic and go somewhere so soul-less and terrible

Two people got me into Twin Shadow about 5 years ago. Loved the sound and the music....When eclipse came out they didnt buy it..... whole album sounds 1 dimensional and the lyrics have very little depth....album sounds like hes trying to fit in...

A couple of songs from this album are excellent, but stylistically not what I am looking for. The background to the vocals is a little too sparse to support less than stellar songwriting on most of these songs. A lot of these songs sound like modern mainstream pop and r&b, which is fine if you like that sort of thing, but I don't most of the time. I fell in love with Confess and Forget, and this album is just not in the same universe of how awesome those records are.

So overproduced. Instrumentation can be as full as you want but the choice to triple reverb his vocals on nearly all the tracks makes no sense. His voice is one of the strongest aspects! L

What does this man have to do to get noticed? It kills me that Twin Shadow doesn't get more attention than he does. This CD is incredible! Check out "Alone" and "Turn Me Up" - if you don't think these tracks are Grammy worthy, maybe it's time to see an Ontolaryngologist.
  • Half Life is the best.

A friend turned me on to Twin Shadow a few years ago. Slow, 5 seconds and beg for the night are my favorite songs. I always search to see if George has put anything new out because I like glimpses of his sound. Again, there is one hidden gem here that I would crank while driving and that is " Half Life"!

Was a rare treat to come across this artist. This album a very unique sound and great dynamics. Turn Me Up is the track that you should start with, then work your way around the album.
  • Disappointing to say the least...

I've been a fan for many years and was extremely hyped for this new record. After months and months of being teased with awesome singles like, "Old Love / New Love", "To The Top" and "Turn Me Up" I couldn't wait any longer. Finally, the album gets released and let me tell you it has absolutely no weight. Out of the whole record, there is probably 5 good songs namely the above as well as "I'm Ready" and "When The Lights Go Out" - I don't generally write reviews but I felt so disappointed in this release. Definitely does not hold up to Confess or Forget. Those albums are on a completely different universe it seems. Although I must say that I loved his 90's influence with this album, I wish he pushed it a little further. With those five songs I listed he could of had another smash on his hands. Oh well, we shall see what George comes up with next.
