this sounds like one continuous live jam session with no musical direction, this is his least impressive work nah bruh not feeling it....

After Brown Sugar and Voodoo, I was expecting another album I could play from intro to outro. This album has gems but it's not on the same level as his previous endevors. It's not an awful album by any stretch but it's not the same standard that I'm used to. D'Angelo is and will always remain one of my favorite artist. I'm looking forward to whatever he puts out next. It hurts me to rate it this low but it is what it is. OK.

Your creativity is so unique, stylish, and so musically orchestrated with such deep soulful passion that portray some of your life experiences and thoughts that’s real, sometimes very sensual and definitely presented with abstract descriptive meaning and versatility!! Great job on Black Messiah Michael Archer!! Really Love, Another Life, Betray My Heart are my favorites, but I have enjoyed this entire album.

D'Angelo's music is the best!!!

I didn't like it at first. D warned in an interview that it was going to be a little different. I was just glad that D is back. Of course in my house he never went anywhere. It's growing on me. "Another Life" is my favorite song. I like "Sugah Daddy" and "Back to the Future"(Part I) too.
