I have been a Bob Dylan fan for years .Love a lot of his music. However his attempt at doing the standards is at best pittiful.Probably time for Bob to call it a day.He is only damaging a great legacy.
Just...no

If you enjoy the standards, Frank Sinatra, or any type of music in general, steer clear of this album. If you are one to like anything with Bob Dylan's name on it, or you are deaf, you'll probably like this.
Don't classify it as "rock," iTunes

It's hard to let go of the idea of Bob Dylan as the James Dean of the '60s, but he has mellowed in recent years. His voice isn't good in any traditional sense, but his expansion into other musical genres is interesting, poignant at times, sometimes even comic (as in "Must Be Santa" on the Christmas album) to hear. I agree with the reviewer who said he'd listen to "Bob and his band sing the phone book" over 90% of contemporary pop.
Is it Christmas?

I never thought he could do worse than his Christmas album. Well…….he’s succeeded!

this is stupid an nonsensical. if any other artist released an album of sub standard covers it would be panned but since it's bob dylan, whom i admire and respect immensley, everyone acts like it was some genius and calculated career choice. Personally i think it's boring and definitley his most dated album since the mid ninties
Horrible no, forgettable yes

Dylan should be Dylan. He should
concentrate on writing great songs which he is still capable of. Anyone who thinks is greatness has never heard a Frank Sinatra 50s torch song album. Listen to Where Are You and then try and equate this work. Now Sinatra couldn't have made Blonde on Blonde or Time Out of Mind and when he stepped out of his arena and tried to do contemporary pop it was also mediocre at best.
Can't listen to it

These are not the type of songs Dylan should ever try to "sing". Dylan is best when he is performing his own music. I would prefer to here Sinatra sing these songs any day. Looking forward to the next Dylan album of new Bob Dylan penned material. God bless Bob Dylan, but this is not an album I can take seriously.
Reverential and beautiful

This is a beautifully and tastefully performed rendering of classic songs from a different era and of course genre than which we normally associate Mr Dylan. It is genuine and thoughtful, is lovely to listen to, and those who criticize this reverential performance do not know or understand one of our greatest living American artists.
Listen first before you decide to not like this album
