Marlisa

I was just browsing YouTube, and saw this young lady on one of the singing competition shows, and loved her voice. Had to have the album. May God keep His hands over you, and protect you as you go far.

I know this was last 2014 but believe it or not, after seeing her at Australia's got talent I just fell in love with her voice! Now it's Jan. 11 , 2017 and I had the opportunity to look for her album. Bought the digital on iTunes and bought the actual CD on Ebay to burn in my car. Wonder how Marlisa is doing now? Hope her career is taking off because I am in the US of A.

I really wish more of the songs Marlisa had performed on the show made it to this album. But her voice is still killer. Marlisa is definitely going places.

I started watching Marlisa just because of being so shy and her age, how would she react on X-Factor? When she opened her mouth to sing, I was stunned. I don't follow many pop singers, I like Classic Rock; but, for this voice, to follow from her beggining, I am willing to make the exception.

She has a great voice. There is not a single bad cover in this album. It's also a very nice set of covers to showcase her voice, and the studio production is quite good. Next, I would love to her add some original songs (or maybe just more recent covers?) mostly with this same strong studio fat-sounded production, but also a couple-few more spare acoustic / near-acapella, with some world-class vocal coaching to bring out all the promise of subtlety and nuance from her powerful and clean voice. I'm guessing the label record rushed to get something into production that could sell her amazing pipes, and lacking any great new songs, they just did covers of powerhouse ballads. That's perfectly reasonable. It gets her on the map, and builds her following. Now it's time to make a superstar: find her Bernie Taupin. And maybe do the next album with a rotation of different producers like Marina Diamandis did on Electra Heart (an album every bit as talented and catchy as Michael Jackson's historic Off the Wall), to find out what works for her. At least a couple of those producers would ideally include a David Guetta type. This girl has GaGa potential, if paired with the right team. Parting thought: given how many talent mash-ups the industry does these days, and how often those pairings create magic, I would love to see Marlisa paired with some musician/s with star power. For example, Marlisa's monster ballad vocals would soar if backed with the same vibe from Lindsey Stirling's glorious violin work. I'm getting chills just thinking about it!
