A musical celebration to lift the spirit and the soul, masterfully conducted by Gordon Stewart and his remarkable ensemble.

I was privileged to attend both performances as well as some of the rehearsal. It was truly exciting. The tempi were often brisk, but the soloists, chorus and orchestra executed every note musically and with precision, resulting in a stirring evening of music. I do not yet have my copy of this recording, but I look forward to listening to it soon and often. John H. Drew

THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL TREAT FOR ANY ARDENT MUSIC LOVER. NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF THE QUALITY OF THE RECORDING ITSELF BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY THE PERIOD INSTRUMENTS COUPLED WITH THE VIBRANT SOLOISTS AND CHORUS CONDUCTED BY GORDON STEWART WITH HEART-FELT PASSION BRINGS TO LIFE A SPECIAL SOUND NOT OFTEN HEARD TODAY.

If you want your heart lifted, if you love classical music, if you love Christmas, if you love feeling touched by all the beauty life has to offer, then GET THIS RECORDING OF THE MESSIAH NOW. It is far and away the best of many versions of this magnificent music I have ever heard, played and sung by a first-class ensemble, led by the polymath wizard, Gordon Stewart. This is an ideal Christmas gift, but there's no reason to wait for December to hear this joyful noise. (cross-posted elsewhere, because this record is that good)

This is one of the most beautiful performances of Handel's Messiah I've ever heard. The delicacy of the period instruments masterfully played by such renowned musicians brings to life all the beauty and wonder of the Christ story as, I like to believe, Handel envisioned it. Mr. Stewart lovingly conducts the orchestra, choir and soloists to create a musical experience that enriches the soul and lends depth and reverent joy to holiday celebrations. I was so lucky to hear this performed at the beautiful St. Mary's of the Highlands Church in Cold Spring, NY. Now I can listen anytime I need a dose of merry Messiah!
