shiragirl is taking over the world, im certain. while NOT SOLD IN STORES was only previously available at shows, now they have broken onto itunes...yay! yet another sign that these punky femme fatales are going places!!! personally, my favorite songs are daddys little grrrl and fake teen anxt. but they are all so good. Shiragirl even collaborated with punk legend Tim Armstrong on "go go go" and Shira flexes her spoken word muscle on the Ani Difranco-influenced "naked." My best friend once said that Shiragirl are like Le Tigre and Bikini Kill combined- but i say throw in some Madonna, Gwen and Courtney Love for good measure. can u say SUPERSTAR potential!? i saw these grrrls live on Warped Tour 05 on their pink stage which they started for girl bands- let me just say their show is like no other. download their album, learn the words and DONT MISS SEEING THEM LIVE!!! its really an amazing experience like no other. probably the best band i've seen in person. i hear theyre releasing a single/music video for "Kill it" in 06 but i guess its still unofficial. this band is such a positive influence on young girls who are searching for independence and self-confidance. plus they help out other girl-fronted bands and are politically active feminists. SHIRAGIRL ROCKS MY SOCKS!!!
