Fantastic solo guitar album! Some of the best steel-string guitar playing around. Lance is an extremely versatile player & the songs reflect that. From the bossa-nova groove of "Pura Vida" to the gorgeous, lush chord voicings of "Fingernail Moon" to the standout duo track "Blue Ireland" featuring Phil Keaggy.
Love this album & can't wait to check out the rest of Lance's catalog (this is the first I've purchased).

All of Lance's CD's are terrific. This one is truly magnificent. I hear this music and can't help but smile, kick back, and revel in the joy of life. Imagine the soundtrack you'd want on a sunny drive with the top down, with your love sitting beside you. This is music for the soul, music to take you to a higher place. Phil Keaggy adds some mighty tasty licks on here as well. "Melody Maker" will have a well-deserved spot in my rotation for a long, long time.

Having the blessing of being a 3rd generation luthier, I have heard guitar music since I was in the womb. There are few guitarists that catch my ear like the greats for the past. Lance Allen is one of them. Strangely enough, so is Phil Keaggy and he is featured on one of Lance's pieces. I came to know lance as a person before I heard him and a musician. His love and integrity in life echoes through his guitar. "Melody Maker" has made its home on my playlist. My ears thank you Lance.

Lance’s execution on this performance is unparalleled. His finger picking technique makes me want to practice more and give up playing all at the same time. Pacific Drive is my favorite tune. A must have for anyone that loves acoustic guitar.
