In this compilation the gifted musicians and composer takes the listener on an inner journey of purity in stillness to variations of movement much like the tumultuous oceans of the soul! Beautiful ,haunting and addictive, you want to return to this meditation over and over again revealing new experiences and depths with each listen !

This is gorgeous music, beautifully performed. It is rare to find new works so accessible and unabashedly emotional. I keep playing it over and over.

Michael Welsh’s collection The Landing Places is a risky adventure. Exhibiting an uncommon combination of traditional compositional concepts and daring peregrinations, the music is romantic, manic and highly evocative. Clearly, Welsh’s compositions are informed by much more than just classical piano repertoire. With his extensive work as an orchestrator, it comes as little surprise one detects hints of Bernard Herrmann or Elmer Bernstein. But it is Welsh’s willingness to take his music into strange and deeply personal directions that sets his work apart.

I highly recommend listening to this remarkably moving album by composer Michael Welsh. Violinist Simeon Simeonov and pianist Brent McMunn are truly talented classical artists.

What a dream-like experience, this music is. I felt transported. Exceptional, through and through. I highly recommend this remarkable work.

Timeless and evocative, this is the music you want when you're on a quest for truth and beauty! I love the textures in the opening piece - very fluid and aquatic, moving like waves on the open ocean. The third movement of "Music for Two Pianos" is more playful, but still introspective. It feels grounded, despite its airier, dancier shapes. In "The Landing Places", the forward motion in the piano continues, but this time it's supporting a soaring and dynamic violin melody. There are many changes in mood and energy levels, making me think of my own travels and "landing places". It's an interesting conversation to hear!
