  • In a gaffs da vida

IB is an OK group, and I don’t like most of the songs on the album. BUT, In A Gadda Da Vida is one of the best musical numbers I’ve ever heard. I’m sad that I need to buy the whole album for this one masterpiece.

First album I bought when I was 10 years old. It stands the test of time! All my buds agree that the flip side is awesome also. Almost a perfect album !

$4.99 for 17 minutes of one of the best 60’s musical master pieces.
  • 😧 There’s another “side” to this album?

I’ve never heard the first side of this album and in it’s fifty-three year old history, I don’t know anybody who has. So, I’ve now joined the club of paying $10 for just one song. It is a great song, but being forced to buy the whole album seems to be the only way to get the full length version of “In-A-Garda-Da-Vida”. The only alternative available is the 2:52 minute single AM radio version, which is terribly unsatisfying and the reason for the 2 star rating. I can’t say the first side is bad, per se, because I’ve NEVER heard it. BUT it does have everything to do with being forced to purchase the entire album just to get the intact title track. As for the other five songs that comprise the album? I’ll still never listen to them~

One of the worst recordings I have ever bought. All vocals were very bright sounding and distorted.ITunes need to remaster this album and straighten up the EQ of this album. This a very historic recording made in 1968 by a great band.
  • Yes it’s worth the $9.99!

I was 6 years old when I first had my dad sit me down by his side and we listened to the 17 minutes of pure psychedelic joy! Fast forward 50 years and I still love it down to the last drum beat!
  • Finally, One Of The Greatest Psychdelic Songs Of The Late 60's

iTunes finally went to great lengths to acquire the album version of "In A Gadda Da Vida" and I want to thank them for that. I also remember this great tune when I was about 6 years old. It was one of my all-time favorites of the 1960's. This is a clean, crisp copy of "In A Gadda Da Vida" It is so clear that about 7:18 into the song, you can hear the REEL-TO-REEL wow and flutter sound of the analog tapes. Another part of this great song is the drum solo of Ron Bushy who is one of the best drummers in his time. All in all, a great song to kick back and remember one of the greatest decades in the 60's.
  • Exc. Classic Musical Timepiece

This album is a perfect snapshot of the late 60's & yes while their sound may be "dated" by today's standards, there's a lot going on here. 17 year old Bruann's guitar solo in the opening track is excellent, some real gutiar craft happening there. Flowers & Beads, the 2nd track captures the period accurately. My Mirage has some great lyrics as the writer talks about his vision he wants "all to come & see". Musically the song may be a bit disjointed, but listen to Dorman's continuious whaling bass going everywhere. Followed by Termination, Bruann's donation to the album features dark luring lyrics & a powerful guitar riff with an erie coda. Are You Happy features some rolling drum work as well as Ingle's powerful vocals which so many IB fans over the years have come to love & his keyboard work speaks for itself on this track. And then of course "Vida" in 1 take, which the band never really liked & thought was just a run through is a timeless classic which has been reproduced by so many including Ringo's mini drum solo on Abbey Road's The End. I shutter to think how many musicians have been influenced by each player in the track. Overall, this is one of the definitive albums of the 60's & the hard rock genre, it's a must have for any collector & with time, it just grows on you & is always worth playing.

I was almost killed in an ambush listening to the drum solo so this has special meaning to me. Its way too hard to explain but 9 days before my trip to conus. Very large ambush.
