Closer Now (Featuring Fisher)

I have to admit, I haven't ever heard of Filo, Peri or the song "Closer Now", but anyone who appreciates a good dance song will appreciate the beautiful works these artists produced. Again, I'm not very familiar with any these DJ's, but if you're a fan of the Oakenfold/ATB sound, you definitely won't be disappointed. From the previews/reviews I ended up downloading the "Whiteroom Mix" first, then I went back and downloaded the "Original Mix" and then I downloaded the "Chillout Mix". All 3 were worth every penny. The "Original Mix" does a nice job setting the pace and familiarizing you with what kind of sound these DJ's were initally trying to capture, the "Whiteroom Mix" does an excellent job speeding up the tempo and modifying the vocals to suit a more "trance-club-appropriate" atmosphere, and the "Chillout Mix" (a personal fav) does a nice job of slowing the tempo way down to suit the mood of those just looking to relax by the bar and sip on their martini while carrying on a soft conversation. Good stuff!

This is the first of two teamups (that I am aware of) between Filo & Peri and Fisher. This song dates to 2002 but finds new magic in 2005 as an energetic dance song, always one of my favorites. The Mike Foyle Remix and the Whiteroom Remix are the standouts here. This is a worthy predecessor to 2006's "Ordinary Moment", a collaboration from the same people from another 2002 Fisher tune. You won't currently find "Ordinary Moment" on I-Tunes except the "Breakfast Mix" on the Thrillseeker's "Night Music Vol. 2" and that mix doesn't do it justice. Look around the internet very hard for the original mix, you won't be disappointed. I wish Filo & Peri and Fisher would work together more often!

This song is just gorgeous... I enjoy trance music but wanted to hear something new. This song is exactly what I expected: electronic atmosphere, but with a real creativity in the rhythm, vocals and background keyboards. Enjoy...
