When I heard this was getting remastered and reissued in 2005, excitement doesn't begin to describe how happy I was!! I mean, let's face it, this is one of those re-releases where you can find it for about 2 weeks, it goes back out of print, then good luck tracking down a copy that doesn't cost you over $50! So I called the music store I shop at all the time(The Record Exchange) to have them reserve a copy for me. The owner picked up the phone. "Yeah, I was wondering if you are going to get any copies of Diesel's Watts in a Tank when it gets reissued?" There was about 2 seconds of silence. "Cale, is that you? When I saw it on my list of new music to place my weekly orders, I went ahead and ordered one extra because I KNEW you would be calling! In fact, I'm such a goober over this song that when we drove past Sausalito on our way to San Francisco a couple of months ago, I started blaring this song. What other song should I have played, I Love L.A.? It's the one song I almost always go to when I'm having a crap day and I need a good pick me up. Buy the song, buy the album! SO much fun!!
Great guitar hook

I heard this for the first time in 2012 (as far as I know). I thought it was an 80s track and it is. Cool song, great little guitar hook in the beginning.
Bueno!!!

I remember my dad having this album sometime in the earlier 80's and hearing this song. The vocal harmonies and the guitar riffs are what caught my attention...I love this song. It's one of those songs that you can play over again and not get too tired of. Anyone know what type of vehicle is on the Watts In a Tank album cover?

As a rock guitarist, I first heard these guys play live with Crack the Sky in Baltimore, probably in 1981. Purchased the album and basically wore it out. Every song is exceptional. Their vocals are simply extraordinary - Scorpian-ish, but with a pop flare. Seeing them live - they hit the notes and their lead guitarist was a shredder, and he never got the credit since he was competing with Eddie Van Halen and the likes. I absoltutely love Ready for Love, and my all time best - Alibi. Where are they now? Too many good memories come flooding back when I listern to them. Dan Ashe - Asheworks.
Got you ALL beat...

Wow, I heard "Sausalito Summernight" on the radio the other day and couldn't believe I've never heard the song before! I heard it on JackFM here in Denver, lucky they have a playlist on their website and I was able to check it out when I came home. What a great tune, great vocals, and I love "road trip" songs too! The rest of the album sounds pretty average, I also liked "My Kind Of Woman" but the real gem here is "Sausalito Summernight", a great Lost Eighties tune.
Can't believe

Sausalito Summernight has good flow and the rest of the album isn't bad either, lots of catchy hooks. For me it rates five stars because it brings back good memories from my high school days. I've been looking for this album for years, I can't believe you have it!
Sausalito Summernight-FINALLY!

Wow! I finally found this song!
Reiterating what others before me have written, this is one great song! As with all exceptional songs, it significantly neuro-associates moments in time. This one certainly does for me in an uplifting way. It's a well-crafted, irresistably catchy tune with such a positive vibe; how can anyone not love this song?
Anyway, as the album review mentioned, even though Diesel was a one-hit wonder, they sure made an indelible mark with their one wonder-hit...
One hit wonders? Why not!

I remember listening to this album when it came out (remember vinyl?).... No matter that it never topped the charts or spawned more and more hits; it's ALWAYS been a favorite of mine. If you like "Sausalito Summernight", I think that you'll enjoy the rest of the tracks, too. Part frentic, part boppy, part soulful, part serious... all fun.
