If you are a fan of ff8, you will fall in love with this soundtrack. I love the storyline, and this music goes perfectly along with Squall and Rinoa's story.
Beautiful, but far from excellent

This is a very beautiful piano collection, and Uematsu has outdone himself again. However, if you are debating whether or not to get this or another piano collection by Uematsu, you should go with the other. This is arguably Uematsu's worst score, and it can only be enjoyed by true fans of the game. I recommend purchasing X or VII collections before this one, and if you do purchase this collection, you should only purchase a few of the songs. Being a coniseur of such music, may I suggest Eyes On Me (breathtaking), Fishermans Horizon (so soothing it hurts. Think Mr Misagi from Karate Kid...), and SM down.
Strongly recommended

As a customer who's bought a number of Final Fantasy soundtracks, I may suggest this Piano Collections not only to fans, but anyone who enjoys good instrumental music. While Nobuo Uematsu's work for FFVIII is brilliant and outstanding among his own previous compositions for the series, these piano arrangements add depht and a lovely touch of nostalgia to the original versions. Gracefully performed, the songs will inmerse the listener into that Final-Fantasy-ish state of mind we all know well. A must have.
EXCELLENT ALBUM

this soundtrack brings more emotion into the music of FFVIII, and the songs are beautifully performed. a must have for any FFVIII fan, and even if you don't like the game, buy it anyway. it's truly amazing. 5 stars.

If there's one thing Final Fantasy is known for, it's the music. Every single one has a breathtaking soundtrack... but VIII's piano soundtrack blows everything else out of the water. You want soothing? Fisherman's Horizon is for you. You want beautiful? Eyes On Me. You want dancier? Shuffle or Boogie. You want catchy? Slide Show, Pt. 2. This album has just about everything. My only complaint would be the lack of a true fast-paced song, but the rest of the beautiful melodies make up for that. All in all, if you're looking for some beautiful music, look no further than this soundtrack.
best ff piano collection

This is my favorite Final Fantasy to play (It was the first one I beat), and the soundtrack is very memorable. I love the jazzier pieces in this one that stand out (Slide Show and Shuffle or Boogie). The Castle is one of my favorite pieces for the piano ever and Fisherman's Horizon is especially beautiful.
Perfect.

In the game, these are the songs which can make any FF fan laugh or cry.. especially 'Find Your Way' and 'Eyes on Me'.. classics. These tracks are Uematsu's best, and really show a pianist and composer at the top of his game. <3
