1963 was the year that folk music exploded across the American landscape . With several acts breaking new ground and pop music forever after feeling its influence this was the seminal year of folk. One can't criticize the record companies for rushing to cash in but this entry should be filed under "What Were They Thinking". It is hard to picture Woody Guthrie riding the rails with a full orchestra . It sounds like a High School marching band director got a hold of a Peter Paul and Mary record
and then set out to torture the fans at a Friday night football game. This is one of those offerings that Disneyland would have put together on a Saturday night in the mid 60 s that would have frightened hundreds of teenagers into questioning there very sanity. I can't really find any purpose to ever have this collection playing except to clear a house party when you want everyone out.
A throwaway if there ever was one !!
