Each time I travel to New Orleans, I search to find out where the Brass-a-holics are playing. The band has an amazing sound and an incredible energy on stage. I couldn't wait for them to release an album. This album is very well done and provides an eclectic array of songs with a fusion of New Orleans Jazz. This album is a must have. I'm certain this band will achieve huge success. I am a Brass-a-holic!!!
Exactly what I expected

it is about time these guys released an album. Being a fan from afar, I had only been able to listen to bits and pieces they would post on Facebook, but now that the album has dropped, I'm happy. They are really expanding what may come to mind when you think of brass band music. Talk about hitting a little bit of everything. A fantastic album from start to finish.

i've seen this band several times and was hoping for a cd that captured their music when their energy on stage is good. on stage the horns and drums are captivating and on cd they're interesting but lost among the lacklustre vocals and keys which also happens live. i'm a huge go go, funk and brass music fan and was hoping for a lot more. i will keep my eyes and ears out though and hope for a better sound in the future.

As a native New Orleanian, I grew up on brass bands in the area and have always had an appreciation for our music culture and local bands. When I first heard the Brass-A-Holics, I knew for a fact that they were doing something completely different than anything else I'd heard. The wait for their debut album has been 100% worth it. The album is well-arranged, with the amazing sound and variety that is so characteristic of this band. Many live bands have trouble translating the energy of a live show to an album - that is certainly not the case here. While there is still nothing quite like a Brass-A-Holics show, they have really captured the essence here. The song list includes songs for every person and every mood from the dreamy almost pop-style of "Hey Baby" to the thought provoking lyrics of "Do The Things You Do" and the completely local New Orleans feel of "They Sew." I can listen to this from start to finish skipping nothing. This CD is an instant classic, and I'm already looking forward to the next one.

This is everything I hoped for. We heard the Brass A Holics in New Orleans over the summer and I searched high and low for an album to buy. I was so disappointed to find out I'd have to wait till October but it was worth it. The music is unique and full of variety. Just when you think you know what to expect you're surprised. The horns are amazing and it's great to hear so many different vocals. This album has something for everyone from classic jazz to rap to rock. Some songs may be a little racy for small children but they aren't overly offensive. If the Brass A Holics don't win a Grammy for Best New Artist when they're eligible it will be a crime.
