Memories of times gone

Sometimes at night I let myself remember when I was young, those days when my friend and I left Australia and began the world of fast learning, wide-eyed discovery, the energy of youth always at play. Remember when you could burn that candle not only at both ends but in the middle as well. When you lay with your girl and watched rain fall, the smell of coffee coming out of that shop in the West End of Vancouver? How much to learn, how naive and un-grown we were. Those days are gone, so soft, hard, beautiful, not knowing what I had. Never to love again so hard so fast. I left not understanding what those eyes were to tell me, were telling me that I remember now so badly I want to go back. But can’t. Only to relive through these songs that I lived then. Oh God, so much lost and nothing gained. These songs, these words I love to hate - they tear a hole in my world still.

Glen Campbell's voice is one of a kind, and this album truly shows off his raw talent and versatility as an artist. So sad that he's no longer here, but his music leaves us with one grand legacy that I hope people continue to share for generations.

What a beautiful voice Glen has…had…he no longer sings, sadly. I remember where I was the first time I heard this song, riding in a friend’s car, on the way to work at the movie theater where I worked. I went to the record store nearby on my break and purchased this album. It was my introduction to a musician that I’d heard on other songs, though I didn’t know it at the time. Thank you, Glen Campbell, for nearly 50 years of your pitch-perfect songs.
His best album, one of the best ever!
