I love Wasted Penguinz in part because of their catchy riffs almost reminiscent of epic trance with a hardstyle kick. Wistfulness is well-mastered and feels good to listen to. As a whole, the album contains decent variety yet manages a consistent theme throughout. As far as Hardstyle goes, I consider this easy listening, so it's a good starting point--if you're new to the genre, listen to a few tracks and see what you think. I'm especially fond of Raindropz. On the other hand, the amount of new content in this album is somewhat limited, so if you've been a fan of Wasted Penguinz, you'll find a lot of the tracks predictable. I do have a personal peeve regarding extended edits of tunes, since intro/outro portions are largely filler. However, I don't hold that against this album, seeing how it's more or less the industry standard. In summary, this is a solid album and you should consider adding it to your own library!

I'm buying the album this weekend for sure, but I can tell you from listening to the previews leading up to the release, this album is something special. For one thing, it doesn't have short edits of tracks, and there are no tracks cut from the digital album that are on the physical album version. Wasted Penguinz even included the (overall) more popular instrumental versions of "Out of Reach" and "Those Were The Days". When it comes to euphoric melodies and punchy kicks, Wasted Penguinz' songs achieve the sweet spot between raw and euphoric. For their first album, Wasted Penguinz have gone beyond what most EDM producers would dream of achieving. Congratulations guys for a job well done, you deserve much higher than your just obtained #83 ranking on the DJ Mag Top 100 (but we all know that's just a popularity contest anyways). Hope to see you live soon in North America, and keep up the great work!
