Khaled is a true force. He's known as the King of Rai for good reason. This particular album is an excellent start point for anyone who wants to experience this fantastic Middle Eastern form of music.
Khaled takes you on an audio journey through the dance clubs of Egypt as he belts out amazing tunes that make you want to dance. If you've never experienced this form of music I'm sure you'll find a song to please your senses. If you already know the music and the artist than what are you waiting for?

This album holds up and still sounds marvelous now. When I first heard Khaled was in Paris where his songs from this album were very popular. His style is so foreign to what I know that I can't really describe it except a very polished Jazz influenced Egyptian music but it really is so much more that that. Highly polished production values. It is happy, at times danceable and always good to listen to. Try it and I think you will like it.

Many westerners may have heard only the song "Alech Taadi" from the film the"The Fifth Element". Alech Taadi is performed by Khaled - a masterful singer and performer of the Algerian folk music known as Rai. Rai is a rich musical expression with influences from Bedouin, Arabic, Spanish, and French culture. Listen and discover Rai music for yourself !
