The rendition of Ashokan Farewell is worth the price. A truly exquisite piece of music. But there are many more delights on this album, including some rare Americana from Stephen Foster.

I'm not one to write a review, but this album is perfect all 20 tracks.

Though there are 20 tracks included, the heart of this collection is the nine Stephen Foster songs performed by baritone Thomas Hampson. Eight of the nine are beautifully interpreted ballads like "Beautiful Dreamer" and "Hard Times Come Again No More;" the ninth is the delightfully comic "My Wife is a Most Knowing Woman." Apart from Foster classics - there are also two instrumental medleys - you get an eclectic collection that recalls the spirit of 19th century America, including the title track featured in the Ken Burns Civil War documentary. A good bargain for $5.99.
