The most sad and cheerful song of longing, loneliness, and regret of his generation. Sadly he died to young on a mountain side near Mt Fuji strapped to a Boeing 747.

This is the one I remember from the 1960's. Mom loved it but dad hated it with a passion.

In the 1960's this song hit the United States in its Japanese version. It's a fantastic song. I have heard it in English and threw the English copy of it that I had in the garbage. If you have the opportunity to get the Japanese version of this particular song, buy it and play it at least once or more times a day. You will fall in love with it just like I have too.

Kai voice plucks my heart strings. I do not need to understand Japanese to sense is loss and great longing. I feel sad and uplifted at the same - strange but wonderful.

He is singing. He is walking down the road and looking up so his tears don't fall counting the stars. happiness lies in the sky beyond the clouds. remembering the happiness of springs past. sadness lies in the shadow of the stars and the moon. he wants to remember the good times of that he had. no doubt with his girlfriend.
