  • Serious?

The first half is pretty good, but then First Impression starts a downward spiral for the rest of the album. This isn’t missing persons. Serious is too acoustic doesn’t fit with the other well produced tracks. Liberty sounds the most Duran’ish.
  • My Antarctica worth the cost of the album

My Antarctica is worth the cost of this album. Hauntingly beautiful song. It's still in regular playlist rotation 26 years later.
  • glad to see they still make music!

I was always a big fan of this album, Despite the changing decade that, early on, became unwelcoming to the band, there is plenty of experimentation here carrying on from the B-side of Big Thing that, together, may represent some of Duran's most creative work. Serious still remains the standout track and among their best, but there are plenty of diverse forays into avante guard funk such as All Along the Water, Venice Drowning etc. This was also a time when Duran tried to re-establish themselves as a legitimate five piece group with the official additions of Warren and Sterling Campbell as members. It's too bad that few were listening by then.
  • One of their worst

My Antarctica and Serious 2 great songs and they are saving grace for this record. Duran is so much better when they leave the dance music to others.

This one of those moments in Duran Duran's history they could never recapture. Yes, it is out of the norm for a Duran album but it rocks! If you can get past HotHead and Venice Drowning you will enjoy this rocking album. It will take you all of the way down...Downtown!
