The Tallis Scholars have hit it out of the park with this incredible recording penned by Eric Whitacre. The gorgeous blends draw you into another world, pushing and pulling the harmonies almost seamlessly from conflict to resolution. The walls of sound, like a fine rice paper, are there and then melt away. Truly haunting, at times. Dare I say, that this is the absolute best Tallis Scholars recording to date. The range of depth and emotion expressed here really showcases what this ensemble of extraordinarily talented musicians can do.

The Tallis Scholars are truly an exceptional choral ensemble. With only two or three voices on a part, they masterfully combine vocal blend with powerful, unrestrained singing. Their masterful singing is certainly demonstrated on this recording of a contemporary piece by Eric Whitacre. The piece was carefully crafted by the composer to illuminate the text, and the Tallis Scholars bring the music to life beautifully.
