What an album. Just absolutely beautiful music to ride on the bus to, or play while your cleaning the house. Very relaxing and nice.
Some Unfortunate Song Choices Mar an Otherwise Great Recording

I really wish I could give this album five stars, for Ms. McDonald is a true vocal sensation and a great artist besides, and much of this CD is sensational. However, I find some of the modern numbers, especially "Was That You?", rather grating. Others are very effective, such as "I Won't Mind" and "I Hid My Love," and of course I love the Arlen, Bernstein, Kern, etc. It is probable that most listeners will similarly like either the old or new numbers, and not both. Let's just be thankful for what we have.
INCREDIBLE!!!

I just bought Ms. McDonald's most recent album, Build a Bridge. How Glory Goes definitely still leaves me speechless. She is definitely in her element on this album.
not in 2004

not only is this album one of audra's finest, but i would like to point out that it was recorded in like 1999 or something like that because i was 12 when i first met audra and this album had already been released and i had her autograph it. i dont understand why it says 2004...
anyways, to the meat of the review, this juilliard grad has the voice of an angel...literally. each note floats on the cloud of harmony. the intonation and resinance her voice gives off can make a grown man (in this case my father) cry. "i wont mind", my favorite track, not only shows the quality and training of her voice but her acting ability. it his heard and felt throughout the 4 minutes and 1 second of the song.
another power ballad that audra knocks out of the park is the finale, "how glory goes". every note is perfect and the energy she draws from the listener is epic and never forgotten. i couldnt have asked for a better selection of songs or a better singer to sing them. thanks you audra for making this world seem safe just through your music.
