Great Classical Library Booster

This whole series is really great because unlike most of the compilation CDs out there, this goes deeper than Fur Elise and Nocturne No. 2 in E-flat. This is a nice addition to a classical music library for a cheap price. However, as with all compilations, quality is not guaranteed. Some examples: the Serenade for Strings, Op. 22, sounds harsh and is severely lacking a good atmosphere of tone. Movement 2 of the New World Symphony just doesn't have the calming beauty it could have with a fuller sound and a deeper tone. Largely, though, recording quality is average and not unbearable. I would definitely recommend this album, although if you are a picky listener, you may want to fill in the more important works later with better quality recordings.
