Keep all his projects on here. Great artist. We're here to listen to the music and judge the music, not the man behind the music. People don't know how to seperate the art from the artist. Smh.

Musical Genius

Since Chocolate Factory R. Kelly's been paying tribute to older musical influences in only a way he can. He can replicate an artist's style and vocals in some cases in his own original compositions. That may not seem like a big deal, but it's not an easy thing. I like this album. He's matured and grown musically. If he were still creating that same 12-Play music, people would criticize and say he's still doing the same old thing. I'm sure he still has it in him to write those types of songs, but genius evolves and gets better. You Are My World is really good :-)

I love the fact that he took it to a more mature audience level, people have to keep in mind that R.Kelly is in his mid 40's, and is trying to relate to not only the young generation, but his generation as well. If he keeps singing as though he's some youngin, then people still would have something negative to say. The man can't please everybody! That's the versatility of an artist, is what keeps their career a float, because if they keep singing the same ole way, then they tend to lose their fan base quickly. Not everyone wants to hear the same style when they listen to music, especially music fanatics, and besides if you stop and take in mentally the words being sung in a song there is a message and knowledge given within it. I listen more for the message of a song first and the beat/rhythm second.
