The drummer from my band had Au5 playing on his iPod while we were taking a break at practice one morning. I was hooked immediately. As a long time synthesizer junkie, electronic music producer, and relatively new dubstep convert, I'm going to have to say that Au5 has what I'm looking for in dubstep. These are basslines and wobbles from your wildest dreams. They undulate, twist, invert, and gyrate in ways that will make your head turn inside-out. The guy understands what needs to be done to make this genre totally alive. It may be a bit too "digitally cold" and "synthy" for mass appeal, but, either way, if you go down the road blasting this from your car speakers, you're going to turn heads ;)
