  • “All Live” shows we all get old

The great melodies and lyrics still have the same charm from the early days. Unfortunately, Gordon’s vocals lack the flow, clarity and passion of his younger days. When I listen to Gordon Lightfoot I want to remember the carefree days of my youth; unfortunately, listening to “All Live” reminded me that time marches on for all of us - even Gordon Lightfoot. I recommend buying this legend’s older albums. He truly is one of the greatest of all time.

Quit counting The amount of times I listened to this album, memorized it,and once again reinvented the sound quality of each piece in my head.As a music teacher,I could appreciate the quality of the various parts and the composition as a whole was just fantastic! Each piece was different but beautiful. I love that I found some of them fun and some of them,in a statement, issued most solemn until the lesson as well as The composer were emptied. Sort of like Neil diamond and Belafonte, Billy Joel and Paul Simon,, and others who is quality I think comes more from who they are thankful to each individual song....I love Gordy's historical songs especially! So did my sixth form graders and I used and suggest that my young teachers use them alsothem all the time--

Gordon is now on the 50 Year Carefree Highway Tour, This is a man who has had some health issues, but this is a guy who is a true professional, One of the greatest story tellers in music history, No his voice isn't what it once was, but how many other performers can you say have been doing this for 50 Years?..This is a dam fine disc, from a dam fine performer..Enjoy...

You can tell he is sick and doesn't have the same voice he did but he still made it sound great! Gordon Lightfoot is #1

I have this album and it is pretty poor. I realize Gordon Lightfoot has had some pretty severe health issues and that recording live adds a whole new dimension to the album process. That said, this album is very un-remarkable. The vocals are so choppy, you have to ask who was doing the singing. The studio albums are worth every penny. This one is not.

If you've ever seen Gordon Lightfoot live, you know what a solid performer he is. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. After all these years, and through some health issues, he's still got it. This CD showcases his live performance. Smooth as silk. If I have one beef with it, it is that it is missing two of my personal favorites which he usually includes in his live performances, "Softly" and "Beautiful". But he has such a great catalogue if terrific songs, I guess it's too much to expect all of them.
  • Finally, live...

I grew up with Gordon Lightfoot. He is uncategorizable. Beyond description. In his own musical world. And he shares it with us. Thank God for Gord. I'm incredibly excited we have a rare live album. He makes me feel like I'm 13 again, listening to Old Dan's Records in our old Chevy Blazer.
