What happened to these guys? Their old stuff was awesome, but their newer stuff is just so run of the mill. What a shame.
  • Obsessed.

I am completely in love with this album. Many say that it sounds different from "happiness is not a fish.." And other albums, but remember that people grow and change and musicians develop and OLP has matured. Still gritty at times, always heartfelt, and strangely beautiful. I think this is some of their best work.
  • Solid Raine Maida Led Album

first off, to anyone playing the "stop making this music that your record label is FORCING you to do". please note that the band has not had a record deal in years. "Burn Burn" and this new album were both financed, produced, and mixed by the band, the way they wanted them to sound. they have no label, just a distribution company that puts the CD's in stores AFTER it's recorded and done. so you can blame only the band. "Gravity" was the last true OLP album as their special sound was a combination of Mike Turner's music and Raine's vocals and lyrics. without Mike it's a very different band as Raine writes very different songs. on it's own without comparison to their 1992-2001 work, this stands pretty strong. the best post-Mike album they've done.

This album just gets better with every listen. I have always loved OLP. You just gotta give the album a chance, it will latch onto you. It is the best album since Spiritual Machines (at least that is what I think). Nice variation and experimentation.
  • Bring back clumsy

I have always been a fan, bought clumsy and like many others then discovered naveed; since then have followed every album. The last album I enjoyed was gravity (awesome), but ever since the albums have been less enjoyable. I wish olp could reconnect with the energy of their earlier albums.

OLP's music shaped my youth and left me in awe and craving more. I hung out with the original line up after a show back in 2002 and they were super nice as well. I hate to say it but everything, in my opinion, after "Gravity" has been unbearable. Sorry guys.... but this wouldn't even cut it as background music on a boring night.
  • OLP is officially the most under-rated band ever.

Wow. Allowance 8/10: Weird sounds at beginning leads up to powerful chorus that'll make you put it on repeat...Fire In The Henhouse 9/10: Good riff, nice bass, interesting chorus. Won't say that it's better then 'The Wolf' but fits "Curve" better... Heavyweight 10/10: Sexy guitar, falsetto, bass/drums all over each other. Video's lame, though... Window Seat 10/10: I'm not sure what to say. Just listen.... AFAYC 10/10: Very nice verses, drum beat, and The last up-beat song on the album.... If This is It 9/10: feels like something is missing....then it hits you....,. Will Someday Change 8/10: Piano. Very slow. It loses it's magic after a while......Find Our Way 10/10: Good beginning, middle and end. Steve's solo. Sweet.... Rabbits 10/10: Best song on the album, hands down. Love the guitar here..... Mettle 6/10: Pretty short, little boring but a fitting end. Love hearing George Chuvalo speak. Very inspiring guy. Without a doubt, you have to buy this record. Completely surpasses OLP's last three records. It's too bad that no one seems to notice.

I recently became a O.L.P. when I listened to Gravity after re-finding Somewhere out there. I remembered how much I loved it, and went searching . Wow, that blew me away! So I searched again. The older stuff was awesome, then I listened to Curve. More like curve ball! Where did this come from? If I wanted to listen to synth music I'd go back to the early 80's Are we in deep space nine or what? Very much missing raw deep gruff vocals, (very very sexy!6) hard hitting drums and some great bass guitar lics and lead guitar rifs. Please, please guys don't make my new favorite band a has been. U were SO GREAT, bring it back, please. I say all this with a tear in my eye.
