"Another Empty Bottle" describes my views and issues I face at home. I feel as if the song were written for me.

Singer/songwriters are a tough find, especially ones as creative and talented as Ms. Katy Mac. Her heart is written in her music, and that may be the defining element. Couple her genuine lyrics with her clear, ambient vocals, add in soaring piano riffs, and this artist governs her own musical dynamics with great finished products. The vocal riffs of "Wanna Believe" compliment McAllister's solemn but piercing voice. "Because of You" is a painfully honest expression of a teenage heart aching with feelings only a teen can express sincerely, while "Phil" reminisces a young girl almost-but-not-completely submitting to a first romance. "Another Empty Bottle" brings to life the reality of many living in quiet desperation, disguised in a facade of happiness. "Amazing for a Minute" builds tension with swirling lyrics and a strong piano line reflecting the fleeting nature of a young heart. The innocent conclusion, "Swing," wishes for a time much simpler, using a simple harmony to draw listener's back to their own childhood in pleasant melody. Any who have the chance to hear Katy Mac live should jump at the opportunity. Her ability to perform live is incredible, and worth dedicating an evening to. Clearly, Katy Mac will not be long in the shadows before her talent and passion propel her into the spotlight. One would hope at that time she would not loose the roots of shy expression in which no other medium than music can rightly express. In a dark world, the simple and profound talent of this young woman from Highlands Ranch, CO is a supreme breath of fresh air to a culture saturated in the pollution of farce glamour and meaningless politics. I humbly approve and highly recommend this album and all her music!
