Everybody needs to hear this.

The Liner notes alone make this album better than most everything else out.
If you have the vinyl (no CD release of this. Nice!) Homeboy gives a detailed description of himself and each song on the album, so I won't do that here. A perfect introduction of himself for his first Stones Throw release.
Boy Sand made a concept EP, six songs covering subjects that have never been covered in hip hop before.
The opener is "Miracle", A song that describes his writing process. Next, "Mine All Mine" is his materialistic song, not about Cars, Money and hoes like the music mainstream radio plays, but about his socks with holes in them, his scratched vinyl and his bicycle. "Canned Goods" is easily my favorite cut. The name says it all, a song about canned goods, food drives, and how they might relate to the earthquake in Haiti and the Occupy movement.
For Old School Homeboy Sandman fans, they'll be happy to hear the Hum is back, also the occasional curse word, which is a good thing and a bad thing (The album "The Good Sun" had no curse words).
The only reason I do not give this release a 5 star rating is because it's actually too deep and too experimental. Sometimes his off kilter flow takes some time to get used to, same with some of the spacey production. This is not something you'd blast in your car. Sandman's lyrics are something you'll want to sit back and closely listen to, maybe even study. He quit law school to become an Emcee, if that is any indication how cerebral his lyrics can be. If you're into lyrics, and conscious music, get this, listen closely and you'll be greatly rewarded. He's going to be around for a long time. (the follow-up to this, Chimera, will be out within the next few weeks)

Homeboy Sandman is in a class by himself. He has supplanted MF Doom in my mind. Good message, great flow, and an attention to details lyrically that are unmatched right now. I recommend this or anything he's done if someone is curious if rap still has any groundbreaking artists.
I'm Sorry :(

I am sooooo sorry you aren't more well known. Sandy Sand beats out all these jokers. I was letting all my friends listen to Verbalsoulclapmania, one of the best songs known to man, and they had never heard of the song or Sandy. I'm gonna have to make posters or something cus he is TOO GOOD not to be famous. :D
Dope!

Homeboy Sandman is one of the best lyricists in the game - he deserves more shine!!! Glad he's teamed up with Stones Throw, looking forward to the entire album... His flow and style is truly unparalled, always on point and accompanied by some uniquely dope production (although the first song on this EP clearly bit Virus by Dan the Automator on Deltron3030). Anyways, top notch musician right here... buy this (and his other) album(s)!!

Gives you what Hip-Hop sorely lacks: hardness and intelligence. Tracks 1,2, and 4 stand out. Carry on Homeboy.
BoySand is the truth!!

Look, there's nothing anyone can say regarding this project that Homeboy Sandman doesn't say himself more eloquently. If you appreciate dope beats, and well written, intricately structured rhymes. Buy it. Period.

Probably the most chesive Sand jumpoff to date. A real tight number that might even put a few closed minds off at the end but the dichotomous nature of the content in their consecutive order is a sound to behold. Point/ counter point- problem/ solution. CAN't WAIT FOR CHIMERA!!!!
