Yamane shines as the moon

It’s hard to express how I feel after listening to If You. I remember the nights I spent with my ex when we were exploring each other, when I sat up late by myself wondering if things will get better between me and my sister, and the yawning world ahead of me I know nothing about but trust God to carry me through ...
Yamane is a true poet to evoke this. I listen to a lot of music, and the structure is always the same (verse chorus verse chorus bridge chorus) and all the lines end in themselves and never talk to their neighbors. but Yamane writes something that is like a dream that is all inclusive and cohesive and yet at the same time rolls into more of something unexpected and beautiful. She might list Janis Joplin as an influence but this girl has a sweetness that I never heard in Joplin. I feel like a child hearing this song.
And I cry. I know things might not work out between my loved ones but that doesn’t stop me from hoping or from leaning on God to do what I can’t fix.
