True fans get it. These are not "remakes" - This is Seal paying homage to the artists that inspired him. It is also a very emotionally telling album by his choice of songs. This is one of the most un impassioned album I have ever heard. He has done a great job of reminding everyone that the original versions are and remain far better and more soulful. Seal's renditions of these songs are meaningless. They often sound like a guy whining or trying to capturing a feeling he has never felt. In a technical sense it's ok - in an emotional sense it's void. This is nothing but corporate soul music.

His voice is great, but the orchestration is very weird on some cuts. He stops singing, but the music just kind of trails off, & on one cut, the music changes as it trails off. Production is not good.

Seal does a fabulous job remaking these classics, he is soulful and doesn't take away or add too much of a spin on the songs. I highly recommend both albums.
