Contropasso is masterpiece that surprises and demands the attention of the listener; a merging of fantastical imagination and baroque counterpoint. It is a beautifully integrated work woven together with bold synth textures and contrapuntal melodies reminiscent of Wendy Carlos, Gary Newman, and Vangelis. The album is predominately dark in tone, with the exception of "Enigma Of The Absolute"; a dreamy lullaby featuring Melissa Kaplan's soaring vocals. As with serious classical music, the album develops and flows in an intelligent and organic way that few electronic artists achieve.
