Of the 9/11 Anniversary music I have heard, this is the one that sticks. Commissioned by the Trinity Church that miraculously remained unharmed as buildings collapsed around it, the same church that offered solace to the workers at Ground Zero with music 24 hours a day following the tragedy, this recording truly will heal. Many of the members of the Youth Choir of the Trinity Church were infants on 9/11/01, yet they perfom this Requiem with all of the heartfelt reflection of those of us that lived that day as adults. Composer Robert Moran wrote music for healing and reflection, not for sensationalism.

Though the rest of the album is fantastic, the standout selection is the Agnus Dei by far. Incredible!

This is such a stunning, thoughful tribute to the victims of 9/11. It is so poignant that it was commissioned and sung by Trinity Wall Street Church, which is also known as The Ground Zero Church because of its proximity to the site of the World Trade Center. The music is haunting and glorious, and these youth singers sound like angels.

Commissioned by Trinity Wall St. Rober Moran's Requiem will stand out as the best of the 9/11 tributes in my opinion. It's gorgeous, heart-breaking and respectful. A wonderful release.
