I was into Tesla from the beginning, and still dig Tesla today. I don't care for these songs as they were performed by the original bands, and I am not much into hearing them re-created here. Most of these tracks have been beaten to death by "classic rock" stations who won't play anything from the 80s except Van Halen (pre Hagar), AC/DC, and other notable left over 70s bands. This is based on the stations in my area of course. Tesla performs these tracks just fine, and in my opinion, even better on a few of them. Tesla's a great band, and their original music kills these old songs.

Tesla could have been bigger than Guns and Roses in the 80's--had they just showed up to the party on time. This extremely talented Bay Area Band came to popularity as the hair was getting cut and the makeup was coming off--only to be replaced by the angry anthems coming out of Seattle. Regardless, the concept behind the Real 2 Reel albums should do really well in Chicago, where the clubs are packed for Tribute and Cover Bands and little support is given to original music. As for Tesla, still one of my favorites. As for the Album, it's OK--the execution is flawless. Seasons of Wither was a sweet choice as was Is It My Body. But for the most part these are tired old songs that are fun to gander a listen once in a while, but by the original artists. However, if you want to listen to these songs with a bit better note clarity and production values, buy it. They do nail all these tunes.
