What is this??? If you were expecting an album that sounded like Augustana as you know and love them, you'll have better luck just sticking to listening to their old albums. I'd skip this one. I was hoping to get something that sounded like their older stuff, which I love and still listen to on a regular basis. Their old stuff was moving, creative, lovely, deep, authentic, emotive, and calming. This? This is just...not. Not at all. There are a couple (literally, there's like two) genuinely good songs on here, but most of it seems forced like the producer/record label told him to sing a certain way that just doesn't suit his voice or to play their music a certain way which is not the band's style. Oh, and they CUT OUT ALL PIANO. Obviously, this is not their style. The fact that another band's producer came in to "change things up" says a lot (probably the label wanted the producer's name for credibility/relevance and the new sound to stay "with the times" possibly with a brand new audience, i.e. they changed their great sound to this mess just for the opportunity to make a profit, which was a huge mistake) and the result is very noticeably forced and phony. A big, big let down to prior fans. I think sometimes bands do grow musically and their sound can change over time, but it usually comes naturally and gradually. This does not seem to be the case here. The change is a huge leap from their original sound, and it just sounds phony to me. It was too abrupt and deliberate, and that's why it sounds so forced. I just have a hard time believing the band made the decision to cut out the piano altogether and change the style of singing from melodic to gritty, when those sounds and that uniqueness was what made them popular and loved in the first place.

I just discovered this album and I love it! It has intelligent lyrics and fantastic music. Can't get enough of it. How can anyone give it negative reviews! Thank goodness we can still find great music that is truly original!

So I can't believe some of the negitive reviews on this one. I'm a huge Augustana lover and maybe that's why I love this album. Yes it's different from the first but what artist's albums are all the same any way. Isn't that part of being a perormer, to grow and develope. I happen to love this album it is different from "stars and boulevards" so if you're looking for the same thing then you will be dissapointed. I think it does still have the original "Augustana" feel but there is defiently a change. If you are a die hard fan you will enjoy it.

I love Augustana! Especially their song Steal Your Heart! They definitely stole my heart:-)

And Augustana continues to be my favorite band. :) They did change their sound a lot, and at first I didn't like it, but despite that this is still an outstanding album with outstanding songs. Thank you, Augustana, for more amazing music.

I really like this album. Let me rephrase, I love this album. I love the new Augustana sound . Steal Your Heart and Shot In The Dark are awesome. I love your music keep it coming. It's inspiring. I've done covers of Boston and Sweet and Low. Now I have new music to work with. I like the bonus tracks. It's a shame Epic dropped this band from it's labels.

they changed their sound a lot but i like it. not as much piano but its still kind of a smooth rock. i like their knew sound a lot. i only listened to a few songs by them and now i bought this whole album. i hope they make another album like this.
