I've been a Dario Marianelli fan since I stumbled onto the soundtrack for Atonement and quickly realized that Joe Wright + Dario Marianelli make an amazing combination. That being said, I own 5 out of the many soundtracks he's composed music for. Just listening to clips of various songs I know I won't be let down with this soundtrack. It is true, Dario has a way of creating hauntingly beautiful scores that stick in your mind like 'Elegy for Dunkirk' in Atonement or 'A Postcard to Henry Purcell' in Pride and Prejudice. As a struggling graduate student, his music serves as my staple backdrop for those endless nights of writing papers or studying for exams. My personal goal is to own every soundtrack he's worked on and I can truly say I think his work is getting better over time.

While I did not particularly enjoy the film itself, the music was absolutely exquisite. I feel that it completely captures the essence of Jane Eyre; something that other adaptations have failed to do. Dario Marianelli is a musical genius and I have loved him since I first heard the Pride and Prejudice score. I would suggest "My Edward and I", "Awaken" and "An Insuperable Impediment" :)
Great

One of the greatest soundtracks I have ever heard.
Seeing Jane Eyre for the first time in April of this year, I absolutely fell in love. It was such a movie, that in the short time that I've seen it, I have watched it almost every day since. Michael Fassbender and Mia Wasikoska are absolutely breathtaking on the screen together. Coming here and listening to the soundtrack has me hooked. Can't stop listening. I bought the entire album, playing it in the car, while baking cookies, and even during bedtime. It's absolutely mesmerizing and breathtakingly beautiful. It does this movie justice, for the amazing movie that it is. I will be watching this movie and listening to this music for many years to come.

If you only listen to the songs once, they sound a lot alike. After listening to them continually, you realize they are so much different even though most of them have the theme. I am very surprised that the soundtrack wasn't even nominated for an Oscar let alone win one.
Absolutely breathtaking....

Dario Marianelli does it yet again. Quite honestly, when I heard they were developing a new adaption of Jayne Eyre, Marianelli was the first composer to come to my mind as a candidate. Wow. If you haven't read any of the Bronte's novels or seen the films...I can only describe them as "beautifully depressing." As if the story itself isn't emotionally complicated itself, much of it is set out in the English moors..which has always been the place for stories of drama and depression. Marianelli's passionate music captures the overall mood of the story effortlessly. The violin sweeping us away with the emotions and the brooding strings dragging us back down to earth. A must have in your collection. Much of it turns my mind to Vivaldi so if your a classical fan, this is one for you as well.
Fantastic! Very moving!

The music is a wonderful play of emotions. It brings you up and makes you feel joy as well as brings you the emotion of doubt trust and sadness. There are few albums that I love and among portrait of a lady, and pride ad prejudice, this has now joined the group. A must have soundtrack.
