George Michael's debut solo album after parting ways with Andrew Ridgeley and Wham! was a monster success. First, there was the provocative music video for the first single "I Want Your Sex" that turned heads on MTV, and then the title track "Faith" vaulting straight to #1 along with the album upon its release. Chart topping singles included "Father Figure", "Monkey", "One More Try", and "Kissing A Fool" meaning George Michael was on the radio all the time circa 1987-1989. An album that's on par with Michael Jackson's and Madonna's best work during that era.

I can listen to this album from start to finish and never feel like my day has been wasted. Each song is so intricately crafted that it's often had to judge whether it's a pop album or R&B. it's got plenty of soul in it, and sure straddles a fine balance between adult contemporary and classic 70s ballad. George Michael's brillance in being a crafter of catchy pop shines all through. It's one of those classic albums from the 80s that needs to be cherished.
