Marina has the talent, the heart and the dedication of a true STAR. "You Make Me Beautiful" should be on every playlist. If the Record labels had not gotten all greedy and killed the music industry, Marina would be a top artist with a major label.

Where to begin.... Simply put, My Star is a breath of fresh air. The songs are very well constructed, piano work... amazing, and the vocals, well angelic is the first word that comes to mind. Tonkaya Ryabina literally brought a tear to my eye, while You make me beautiful & Weight of the world are ready made singles sure to turn heads (as if You make me beautiful hasn't turned enough already). A truly inspiring artist + an album of sheer beauty = hurry up and download!

I first heard the song "You Make Me Beautiful" on my cable digital music channel and fell in love with it immediately. I was unable to find it stateside, so I finally ordered the CD from Marina herself in Russia. I have it on repeat in my car and on my iPod! She has a wonderful voice and passion!

I just wanted to take a moment to tell everyone that MarinaV - My Star is one of those albums that when you listen to it you find yourself asking how is it I have not heard about this sooner. As the owner of The X KXRX.net - Extreme Rock of Seattle I don't often have a chance to be exposed to beautiful music such as MarinaV's and we certainly seldom play such treasures on our Active Rock station, but after hearing MarinaV for the first time my initial reaction was to contact one of our Jocks and insist we have her on the station live. Of course MarinaV like her album My Star were a glowing success even among the most die hard of rockers. Do yourself a favor and purchase My Star you will not be let down...

Very enjoyable, and that cover of Don't Cry is pleasant surprise! This will not disappoint fans of her earlier work. For those new to her music this would be a great start.

I've had this album for quite a while now and it's been known for running down my iPod's battery.. Well because I just keep playing her stuff until it dies. Well anywho check this and all her other music out, you won't regret it. :-)

This album is the best by far from Marina V. All the songs are original and holds special meaning to each and everyone of us who listens to the words and music that Marina graciously shares with us. My favorite songs are 'My Star,' 'Unbalanced,' 'Thursday Song,' and 'You Make Me Beautiful'. Marina's voice is superb and stunning. You have to hear this album.

I initially became aware of Marina online several years ago. Since then I have had the pleasure of meeting her and hearing her perform live several times. I have always enjoyed the unique quality of her voice and singing style. Her music truly deserves to be heard.
  • This is the breakthrough album!

MY STAR is Marina's beautifully produced breakthrough album. So many great tracks to choose from, it's hard to pick a favorite! Marina is truly a fresh new talent, and while her original songs are uniquely her own, you can hear echoes of influences like The Beatles and Tori Amos in her arrangements and performance. The uplifting "You Make Me Beautiful" is simply terrific, and "Weight of the World" is exceptionally fine with a chorus worthy of the Fab 4. The acapella performance in Russian of "Tonkaya Ryabina" resonates with raw emotion. Her albums keep getting better and better, but I don't know how she's going to top this one!
