I remember seeing Laurie Anderson in concert years ago and meeting her. An absolute genius. Way ahead of her time.

For those of us already versed in the language of Laurie Anderson, it will go without saying that it's a challenge to sum things up on a "best of" collection. This album represents a transimission to the newcomer; a collection or summation of the various waves of sound and thought coming from this highly astute artist and musician. These passages are all strings that lead to a greater whole. Those who find value to them should seek out the whole. Others, (like an earlier review) should continue on.

This music is weird and stupid it makes me laugh histarically but i just dont understand how anyone can like this. It's really freaky!!!

Laurie Anderson is amazing. What else can I say? Truly a remarkable artist.

She is one of the most original songwriter ever! Her sense of music and lyrics is perfect. Language is a Virus is unbelievably thought-provoking. O Superman is just incredible. To see her in performance is magical.

Laurie Anderson's pleasing, different style always delights me. Some of my favorites are O Superman, Born - Never Asked, Excellent Birds and the Lighting Ou for the Territories. Another that I've heard some don't like, but I do anyways is From the Air. Many bands try to do a song about flying in an airplane, but this is the best of that type of song that I've ever heard. If anyone gets these songs, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Um, I don't know what the other guy is talking about - O Superman is pretty incredible. I can see it being irritiating for people who don't like this kind of music, but its really quite beautifully done.
