The Best From the 60's

What is 60's music without Sonny & Cher? They influenced many and also opened the doors for may artists then AND now. There truly would be no Madonna, no Lady Gaga, Britney and many more. While many artists have come and gone, Cher is still here after 45 years. But about this album. You can say what you want about Sonny Bono. Not a great singer, nasaly voice, etc. But if you listen to the duets with Cher, he is mostly singing harmony. Not an easy thing to do. What about Sonny Bono the song writer? Listen to the words to "Little Man". Great song. Other artists also recorded his songs. Dusty Springfield, Liza Minnelli. Listen to Liza's version of "You Better Sit Down Kids" from her Carnegie Hall Live CD. She really puts feeling into it. "Laugh At Me". Was powerful then and is powerful now. If you've ever felt different from everybody, listen to the words of that song and just tell everyone to just Laugh at me. Enjoy it.

Okay, so now I know we were simpletons back in the 60s. Much of this is simply terrible. I still like "I Got You" and "The Beat Goes On." I actually bought this for "The Beat Goes On." I probably should have purchased the single, huh? So, if you want some 60s stuff that ranges from fun to not so much, this is the album for you.
Timeless!

Sonny and Cher rocked in the 60's. This is the definitive collection of all their good stuff together. The later 70's schlock not so much so you're not really missing anything.
A Cher lover's nightmare

This album contains alot of tracks. I don't want to undercut Sonny and Cher, but their music gets very repeatative after a few tracks. There are the hits that I could listen to over and over again, I Got You Babe just makes my day, but there are also the misses. If you are a fan of Sonny and Cher, you are well served by this collection, if you are just looking for the catchy tunes and hits, buy the song only.
This is really sad!!!!!

Sonny and Cher were the best of the 60's now they suck. This is sad. They are the reason for "the beat goes on." I don't have this cd but I have other records. They are really good artists or it is sad to say they were due to the fact he died. Yet Cher is still a great artist!!!!
