My favorite album freshman year at CMU! My roommate and cousin, Melissa turned me on to it, never tired of listening over & over again! Baking and Highway songs bring back some great memories!

Wonderful harmonies and acoustic guitar work. The first (self titled) album was a masterpiece and I wore out the vinyl all through college. Highway song is absolutely etherial. Unfortunately, they really never achieved the acclaim they deserved. I think they were victims of the record company as their follow up albums seemed really overproduced. I am glad they are still out there playing.

Wow. I bought this album in college when it first came out. I loved it and listened to it over and over. I just watched a short documentary on the band and was surprised to find that they did not have any hits and have been playing for about 30 years.
When I listened again, for the first time since 1972, I remembered the words to every song.
It brought me right back.
My dear friend, Bob, who introduced me to the record, is long gone. He would have remembered it well.

I first heard this in college more years ago than I would like to say. The album grabbed me immdaitely, especially Highway Song. It ranges from the cerebral catchy sound of Persecution, to the melancholy beautiful lyrics of Infidel. The harmonies are tight and imaginative, and the guitar playing is great. The a;bum was produced by Jerry Yester, and I think this is the reason this album has such a distinct sound. If you like Simon and Garfunkle this album is for you.

Aztec Two Step's first album is truly a wonderful album. It is their greatest hits. They were ahead of their times. A great duo / a magical time. They were best when you saw them live.

Don't let the album review fool you. The best song on here is " The Persecution and Restoration of Dean Moriarity (on the Road"). It's great upbeat folk/rock. For a mellower vibe check out "Highway Song".
