NOK was once a mighty presence in the Boston Metal scene, playing clubs up and down the east coast. They opened for bands such as Slayer, Type O Negative, Pantera. They knew God Smack when it was nothing but an Alice in Chains cover band. I belived that God Smack once opened up for NOK. This EP was high in the Metal charts once upon a time, receiving press in CMJ. One of their songs was featured on ESPN's Plays of the week.
If you know where lengendary clubs, CBGB's, The Rat, The Middle East are, then you have traveled the same circles as NOK.
The "NOK EP", and their sucessful LP "Vent" are still in my work out routine. Rumours are that they will be getting back together for a few reunion shows. Lets hope that ego doesn't wreck it.
To bad Vent hasn't been uploaded here. If you like this YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT DOWN YOUR iPod with VENT!!!
Stay tuned for singer (throat) Jeremy Jenkins's new band Synthetic Mindset. Their new CD is comming!
