    That one of his more well known songs, the one that The Teddy Bears wrote as an ode to him “To Know Him is To Love Him” isn’t in this collection which is a rather curious omission. For want of it I’d mark this album however outstanding incomplete. We have one other Spector collection competing for your money here on iTunes, the very good if not downright excellent “The Essential Phil Spector” which does have that song & is just as comprehensive as this collection for less money. I’m hard pressed to tell what the exact differences are between the two & I can’t give you advice on which one is better except to say that “Essentials” had that one more song I needed to make me happy, but this set looks just as outstanding too. Choices, choices!

    I grew up listening to these groups and was always mesmerized by Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound" technique. These timeless classics bring back many great memories, and are bound to make new ones!

    All the rich texture is gone and replaced with harshness. Other iTunes offering are much better though I do applaud it's release in Mono.

    This album has been praised for the fact that it presents the originals, not something re-recorded or else covered by some unknown group. Definitely worth looking for, and purchasing in whole or in part.
